Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon  2012

OUR PRICE $69.99

93pts Wine Enthusiast-This is a 100% varietal wine from a prime appellation, memorably juicy in raspberry, cassis and red currant with a floral, almost tropical flirtation on the nose. Edgy tannins and a depth of concentration smooth out on the lengthy finish, giving this wine a sense of satisfying completion.

93pts Robert Parker-From Napa, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville possesses a dense ruby/purple color, a complex nose of forest floor, licorice, baking spices, Christmas fruitcake, blackberries and cassis intermixed with hints of coffee as well as oak. This full-bodied, supple textured, velvety, showy Cabernet Sauvignon should drink well for 10-15+ years.

Gap's Crown Vineyard Pinot Noir 2015

OUR PRICE $54.99

On the heels of the 2014's #35 ranking on Wine Spectator's Top 100 wines of 2016, the 2015 bottling continues to affirm that Gap's Crown is one of the top California Pinot noir vineyards.

95pts Robert Parker-Medium ruby-purple in color, the 2015 Gap's Crown Vineyard Pinot Noir gives notes of fragrant earth, fallen leaves, tree sap and sauteed Provence herbs over a kirsh, red currant and cranberry core. Full-bodied, rich, concentrated, multi-layered and firmly structured, this is clearly Sojourn's powerhouse Pinot of this vintage and man-o-man is it good!

Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2015

OUR PRICE  $34.99

90pts Wine Spectator-Young and tight, with a zesty mix of dusty herb and dried and ripe berry flavors, ending with chewy tannins. Though there is much to admire here, this wine is best served by short-term cellaring, as the flavors should be more forthcoming in a year or so.

Sonoma Coast Chardonnay 2015

OUR PRICE $34.99

90pts Robert Parker-The 2015 Chardonnay Sonoma Coast has a delicate white peach and grapefruit-scented nose with hints of apple blossoms, allspice and baking bread. The medium-bodied palate delivers a lot of sophistication and intensity at this appellation level, offering a lovely creamy texture and mouth-filling stone fruit and citrus flavors that lead to a touch of minerality in the finish.

Our History

So what does wine have to do with The Founding Fathers and American History?

Well, winemaking began in the U.S. shortly after Columbus arrived and was even an official goal of many colony charters. What started out a little rough, soon turned into some pretty decent wines. It was likely around this time that Ben Franklin said, "Wine is constant proof that God loves us and loves to see us happy."

It wasn't long before California wine country was discovered and America's 'New World' style Zinfandel took root, producing some truly incredible wines.

The Federalist Was Born

To honor our Founding Fathers and their love of wine, we created a collection of varietals as big and bold as the men themselves. Thus, The Federalist was born. We began with our flagship Visionary Zinfandel featuring the man who pioneered The Federalist Party, Alexander Hamilton.

We then expanded with our Dueling Pistols Red Blend, memorializing the duel in which Hamilton was mortally wounded by the Vice President of the United States, Aaron Burr.

We have since created a Chardonnay featuring the Statue of Liberty, a Cabernet Sauvignon featuring Ben Franklin, a Zinfandel featuring George Washington and a Honest Red Blend featuring Abraham Lincoln.

Our newest edition to the Federalist family is the Bourbon Barrel-Aged Zinfandelfrom Mendocino County! Aged in real bourbon barrels for six months, this wine portrays Alexander Hamilton, who met his demise at the end of a smoking barrel in the most famous duel in American history.

We invite you to explore our collection of exceptionally bold wines and discover what it means to taste A Wine With Principle.
